US Futures Market Review: Q2-2019
Volatility returned in the second quarter and strong volume accompanied it. In the US interest rate futures and options on futures trading picked up as the Fed's stance on the direction of rate decisions changed beginning in early May. Agricultural markets also thrived due to the uncertainty associated with the ongoing trade war with China. Globally, equity related futures trading dominated the markets. Finally, the number of FCM's remains consistent while AUM ticked up slightly in the quarter.
